The CMS that builds BERNINA's own pages — running your store.

The Indition CMS module powers BERNINA's flagship storefront. Every page, every promo banner, every contact form — built and maintained on this exact platform. Your dealership gets the same toolkit.

From idea to live

Five steps to publish a page.

Every page on your storefront follows the same five-step rhythm. The CMS module handles drafts, previews, revisions, and the safe handoff from your private workspace to the public site.

  1. 01

    Create a page

    Properties tab

From the Pages list, click Create CMS Page. Set the title, alias (the URL identifier), template, robot rules (search-engine guidance), and whether visitors need to sign in. Most pages are ready in under a minute.

    • Page title + sitemap text
    • URL alias (auto-suggested)
    • Pick a template & SSL toggle
    • Optional role restrictions
  2. 02

    Add widgets

    Content editor

Open the Content Editor. Your template provides named containers (header, main, sidebar, footer). Drop widgets into them — rich text, images, slideshows, contact forms, embeds — then configure each in a short form. Rearrange by drag-and-drop. See the full catalog below.

    • 30+ widget types in the catalog
    • Multiple layouts per widget type
    • Show/hide widgets without deleting
    • Full edit history per change
  3. 03

    Preview in the dev workflow

    Private staging

Every save creates a revision. The development workflow is your private staging area — new pages appear there automatically with a preview link. Click through, click test the contact form, share the URL internally with a teammate. Nothing is public yet.

    • Auto-published to dev on every save
    • Shareable preview URL
    • Compare to live version side-by-side
    • Edit history with who-did-what
  4. 04

    Schedule (optional)

    Page Scheduling

For seasonal sales, holiday promos, or timed announcements, schedule the page to publish and un-publish itself. Set the go-live date and time, optionally set an end date. Notifications go out to whoever needs to know. You can sleep on Black Friday.

    • Publish + un-publish dates
    • Email reminders to your team
    • Per-page or bulk scheduling
    • Times in store time zone
  5. Publish to live

    Public storefront

One click. The current revision moves from the development workflow to the live workflow. The public storefront updates immediately. The previous live version is kept as history — one click reverts if something looks off.

The whole flow, including widget changes, takes under 10 minutes for most pages.
The publishing model

Draft without risk. Publish without surprise.

The single most important idea in the CMS: you never edit the live site directly. You work in a development workflow — a private copy of the site on its own URL — then deliberately publish your finished revision to the live workflow.

DEVELOPMENTdev.indition.com

Your private staging

New pages appear here automatically. Draft, preview, test contact forms, share URLs internally. Visitors can't see anything you do here.

  • Auto-publishes on every save
  • Require login (your team only)
  • Compare pages to live version
Publish →
LIVEindition.com

The public storefront

Your customers see this. A revision becomes visible only when you deliberately publish it here — or on a schedule you set.

  • Publish now or schedule for later
  • Previous live version kept as history
  • Per-locale & per-device targeting

Multi-site? Each site (dealer brand) gets its own workflows. Multi-brand groups can run several storefronts from one CMS.

The widget catalog

Build pages from 30+ ready-made blocks.

No HTML required. Every widget has a short configuration form. Mix and match in any template container.

Revisions & A/B testing

Every save kept. Two versions can run at once.

Every change creates a new revision with a log note, an author, and a timestamp. You never lose history. With A/B testing turned on, more than one revision can be live in the same workflow at the same time — visitors are split between them so you can compare a redesigned hero against the original.

  • Saved snapshots of every page state
  • Compare two revisions side-by-side
  • Revert in one click if something looks off
  • A/B testing built in — no third-party tool
Page scheduling

Set it. Forget it. Wake up to a live promo.

Schedule any page to publish (and optionally un-publish) at a specific date and time. Black Friday at midnight. Holiday hours banner Dec 17 through Jan 2. Spring class registration goes live on Jan 6 at 9am. Optional email reminders to your team before each runs.

  • Per-page or bulk scheduling
  • Auto-publish + auto-unpublish
  • Email reminders by role or named user
  • Times in your store time zone, clearly labelled

What dealers ask us most

Do I need to know HTML or CSS to build pages?

No. Every widget has a short configuration form — pick the image, write the heading, choose a layout. The Rich Text widget is a what-you-see-is-what-you-get editor. For dealers who do want to drop in custom HTML, CSS, or JavaScript, dedicated Markup Code, CSS Code, and JavaScript Code widgets are available.

What's the difference between development and live workflows?

Two separate copies of your site, each on its own URL. The development workflow is your private staging area where new pages appear automatically and you draft safely. The live workflow is your public storefront — nothing appears there until you deliberately publish it. This is the single most important concept in the CMS.

What happens to old versions when I publish a new one?

They stay as revisions in the page's history. You can revert to any prior version in one click. When deleting a revision the system asks first whether to also remove its template and widget data — cleanup is always deliberate, never accidental.

Can multiple staff members edit the site at once?

Yes. Every change is logged with the staff member who made it and a timestamp. The edit history can be filtered by date, by author, and by the kind of change — so you can see exactly who touched what. Pages can also be restricted to certain user roles for permission control.

Can I rename a page without breaking the old URL?

Yes. Each page can answer on multiple URLs — one is the default and the others redirect to it. When you rename a page, the old URL becomes a redirect automatically. The URLs & Redirects screen also tracks every web address the site knows about, with an HTTP Errors log that flags 404s so you can fix broken links proactively.

an pages target specific devices or languages?

Yes. A revision can be narrowed to a specific locale (language) or to a specific user-agent (browser/device). So you can serve a mobile-only variant of the homepage or a French-language variant of a class page. Set up user-agent rules in the User Agents screen and turn on the per-page User Agent Supported toggle.

How does SEO work? Can I control sitemap and robots.txt?

AEvery page has Robot Options (Standard / No Index / No Follow / both), an Include in Sitemap toggle, and a Metadata widget for SEO + social tags. The robots.txt file is editable from the admin (with a preview link), and the Search Query Log shows you what visitors typed into your search box — including queries that returned zero results, so you know what content to add.

Can I copy pages between environments or sites?

Yes — pages export to a downloadable .zip file (with or without their revisions), and that file can be imported into another workflow or another site. Useful for cloning a successful campaign page, backing up before a major redesign, or migrating between staging and production.
